The 2023 3DEXPERIENCE World conference is coming up soon chock full of information about SOLIDWORKS,SOLIDWORKS PDM and the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform! As usual, our own Tom Cote will be leading a presentation. This year’s presentation is called “Setting up the Ultimate SOLIDWORKS & PDM Testing Environment”. Joined by our good friend, Marty Ohnemus from Knapheide Manufacturing Company, Tom is going to be tackling one of the least considered, but most important, aspects of any PDM environment.
Importance of a Good PDM Test Environment
Test environments are an important part of any large-scale deployment of SOLIDWORKS and SOLIDWORKS PDM, but they can serve you well in a smaller environment, as well. Using a test environment will not only allow you to test your backups, but test new workflows before you introduce them to your production environment. You can also use one to try out data card changes. Archival and deduping strategies can also be tested in such environments. Test environments are a great place to test out automation and macros.
What They Will Cover
Tom and Marty will discuss different methods that can be used to upgrade both SOLIDWORKS & PDM while eliminating risk to your live data. Having many years of experience performing system upgrades, there isn’t much that they have not seen, tried, or tested.
They will discuss building the test environment, as well as creating and implementing test protocols to assure your company data security. Finally, they will help you to decide when there has been enough testing and you are ready to go!
